Home of Andrew JohnsonRecreational opportunities are endless in the Washington and Greene County areas. Several Tennessee Valley Authority lakes, which offer great fishing, boating and skiing, are nearby. If land activities are more your speed, we have a number of community parks complete with walking paths, sports facilities and playgrounds for the kids. Golfers can choose from a variety of courses that offer different degrees of challenge for all skill levels.

Furthermore, several state parks, the Appalachian Trail, the Cherokee National Forest and plenty of historic sites are within a short drive. For entertainment you might attend a symphony concert, catch an act on the local music scene, take the kids to Johnson City for an afternoon at Hands On! Regional Museum, or shop in Historic Jonesborough, the oldest town in Tennessee and home of the National Storytelling Center or Visit Historic Greeneville home of President Andrew Johnson.

East Tennessee State University is located in Johnson City and Tusculum College is in Greeneville. Also a short drive away are other major attractions, Bristol Motor Speedway, Bays Mountain Park, Doe River Covered Bridge, Knoxville Zoo, Pigeon Forge where Dollywood Park is located, and Gatlingburg. Take a days drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
